Chapter 4 Assignment - Bill of Rights

Play the following card game from the Annenberg Classroom:

That's Your Right Links to an external site.

This game is not immediately intuitive, unless you have played similar games already, so I strongly recommend the tutorial and then the easy mode. Once you get the hang of it, it is both fun and informative and you can try out the more challenging levels.

Once you have played through enough rounds to have fully tested your understanding of the rights protected by the first ten amendments, please write a brief reflection that addresses the following questions:

  • Which rights and freedoms for citizens do you think our government does a good job of protecting?
  • Why do you think this?
  • Which rights and freedoms could it better protect, and how?
  • In which areas do you think people’s rights and liberties are at risk of government intrusion?
  • Why did you choose these areas?
  • Which solutions would you propose?
