Chapter 5 begins by defining learning and sketching out its main types-associative learning and observational learning. We then turn to two types of associative learning--classical conditioning and operant conditioning, followed by a look at observational learning. In chapter 6, you will learn about the processes of memory including encoding, storage, and retrieval.
